Ideas: The flag bearers of individuality for women

This women’s day, let’s not talk of gender equality, rather let’s celebrate the individuality of the modern woman, who can stand for herself and leave behind a glorious legacy.

Throughout the history of civilization, women were never given their due recognition. They were always underrepresented, misrepresented, or not represented, at all. Women were always given less than men — lesser opportunities, reduced (or zero) political power, lesser freedom, reduced pay, and several disparities.

Yuval Noah Harari in his book Sapiens, says:

“Gender is a race in which some of the runners compete only for the bronze medal.”

And the women have always been considered the runners for a bronze, considered as second-grade citizens. To break the convention, women need recognition of their individuality, along with feminist movements.

It won’t be wrong to say that women have always suffered discrimination, and continue to face the same, even today — pay gaps, harassment issues, pressure to forgo maternity leaves, and whatnot.

Until a century ago, a large part of the world was debating voting rights for women. Even the US extended voting rights to women only in the 1920s.

It won’t be wrong to say that the 21st century empowered women to some extent, but is it enough?

Women are rarely taken seriously.

A common argument is that women are far more compassionate, have lower negotiation skills and give in to demands too easily. People don’t realize that compassion is a positive trait that can take civilization ahead.

But, some rise and shine beyond the common notions through their actions and intentions. Take the journey of Jacinda Ardern — the Prime Minister of New Zealand.

Compassion isn’t a weakness for the modern woman, rather it is a strength, everyone should have.

A Woman is an Entity in her Own, There’s No Need for Comparison

“Hamari chorriyaan choron se kam hain ke!” Amir Khan as Mahavir Singh Phogat comments in the movie Dangal.

But why should a woman, or a girl be compared with their male counterparts in the first place? Why should a man’s ability be the benchmark to a woman’s strength and growth?

For a large part of the last few decades, brands, think tanks, empowerment groups, women rights activists, and the world have been emphasizing that women and men are equal. The thought is noble, but why the woman should be equal, when they can outshine their male counterparts.

On this International Women’s Day, let’s pledge to not compare, but empower them to come out of the shadow of men in society.

Break the Empowerment Stereotypes with Idea Revolution

Ideas are the only thing that can help women stand out and embrace their individuality.

Let’s not see women as weak species — needing a yardstick to improve, but the one that can chart its own path.

With the right idea and manifestation, a woman can bring a transformation in the world, and command her rightful position in the world.

We, at AbleAlly, call it the idea revolution, and we are here to support women with ideas through our Superwoman program.
